The Florida AM Rattlers men's and women's basketball teams dropped both games of the Pac-12/SWAC Heritage Series on Monday.

Florida AM Women's Basketball Falls to Cal Women's Basketball

The FAMU women's basketball team fell to Cal, 76-38. The Rattlers shot just 25 percent from the field and were out-rebounded 53-31 by their opponents.FAMU forced 17 Cal turnovers but scored just eight points.

"There is a lack of focus and leadership on this team," said FAMU women's basketball head coach Brigitte Gordon after her first home game.

"This is a sister team. The team has to hold each other accountable. Until they do that, this is our team. As disappointed as I am, we have to go back to the drawing board and understand the big picture.

"We're not going to put out a bland product."

FAMU men's basketball falls to Oregon State

The FAMU men's basketball team fell to Oregon State, 67-54. The Rattlers had been down 29-28 with the score tied, but the Ducks' offense in the second half won it for them.

FAMU showed its ability to finish drives, grabbing 33 rebounds, one fewer than Oregon.

Rattlers freshman guard K'Jei Parker tied with guard Keith Lamar for 18 points.

Parker has been named SWAC Impact Player of the Week in each of the first three games of his collegiate career. He is tied with teammate guard Love Bettis for 13 points per game.

"It gives us more confidence to play these Power Five schools," Parker said after playing a game-high 37 minutes.

"We've made a lot of progress.

Looking ahead.

The FAMU men's basketball team will host Albany State on Nov. 29th.

The FAMU women's basketball team will host Jacksonville at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
